Poulo Condor

Now renamed Côn Son Island, Poulo Condor used to be a harsh prison under the French colonialist period, with all the torturing, suffering and killing one can imagine. Once French colons got kicked out of Vietnam, Americans took over the prison and they basically went on with the same thing during the Vietnam war.

Note that we did not visit the prisons.

Hidden gem of the South Vietnam, Côn Son is also the biggest island of the Côn Đảo archipelago. This beautiful archipelago is undoubtedly less famous than Phú Quốc and therefore spared by mass tourism…

…But unfortunately not by garbage :-/
