The Underrated Chumphon

Our Thai host from Sam Roi Yot dropped us at the nearby Pranburi station where we took a southern train to Chumphon. This town is mainly known by travelers for being a gateway to Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui as some boat shuttles leave from here.

Inspired by the nice discovery of Sam Roi Yot, we decided to stay a couple of nights to explore the area before taking a boat to Koh Phangan.

My feeling is that we could have even enjoyed staying a bit longer to visit the Mu Ko Chumphon National Park and the nearby islands.
