We learned about Kamikochi through a website and that is actually one of the reasons we decided to come to Takayama. It is a national park located in the heart of the Japanese Alps (1h30 from Takayama) which, one must say, is really beautiful. We only spent a day there, but it turns out it is a starting point for many hiking trails. Should we return to Japan another time, we’ll probably stay longer in this area.

We took a 3 hours walk, first from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge and then the loop trail up to Myojin Bridge.
