Fuji Lakes

Mount Fuji (3776m) is probably the most famous symbol of Japan. We had not initially planned to explore this area but after seeing it written in every travel guides, blogs and websites we figured out we should drop by for a few days. We did not climb it though, as the hiking trails were closed in September (well, the truth is that we were not prepared to do so, but the trails being closed gave us an excuse :-P). So we opted for cycling tours around Kawaguchi and Yamanaka lakes instead; both offer very nice views of “Fujisan”, even if the below do not entirely reflect it.

And before somebody asks: yes, there is no snow on the top at this time of the year! (:
